The word “Cobber” is Australian slang for “friend,” a fitting name for this remarkable breed. Cobberdogs were intentionally developed to thrive in close human relationships. They are highly intuitive, naturally affectionate, and known for their strong eye contact, giving them an especially attentive and connected presence. Many families are drawn to them not only for their appearance, but for their calm, perceptive, and deeply devoted temperament.
Different Colors & Sizes
Cobberdogs come in a variety of colors and sizes, including red, blond, brown, and black. They are also bred in several size ranges, from standard and medium to small medium and miniature.
A Little About Us
Lively Acres Cobberdogs is a small, family-based breeding program rooted in generations of farming, agriculture, and responsible breeding — not a kennel. As a mother-daughter team, our dogs are raised in our home as cherished members of the family, where they receive the love, attention, and companionship they deserve.
Our journey with Cobberdogs began over eight years ago while searching for the perfect service dog for our aging and blind grandmother, Blondie. That search led us to this extraordinary breed and to our very first Cobberdog, Rutland’s Blondie’s Bliss. From the moment she arrived, we were captivated by her gentle nature, intelligence, and calming presence. She brought not only joy to our family, but also comfort, peace, and true companionship.
Since then, our passion for the breed has only grown. We are devoted to raising exceptional Cobberdogs with loving temperaments, sound structure, and the qualities that make them such remarkable family companions. We truly believe there is something special about a Cobberdog — and we are excited to share that with other families.
